Company Beginnings
The history of the company dates back to 1987, when Zbigniew Piwowarski founded a sole proprietorship under the name “Zakład Instalatorstwa Elektrycznego Zbigniew Piwowarski,” known in the region as ZIE PIWOWARSKI. The company’s first headquarters was located in Nowy Tomyśl on Barteckiego Street. From the very beginning, its activities focused on the implementation of industrial power installations in newly established and renovated production facilities in western Poland.
Dynamic Growth and First Major Contracts
The economic transformation of the 1990s created new opportunities for development. As the number of industrial plants in the region increased, the company began securing more and more contracts. A decision was made to focus on long-term cooperation with large enterprises, resulting in multi-year contracts, including with Swedwood (now IKEA). During this period, the company expanded its workforce and technical infrastructure, enabling it to successfully carry out increasingly complex projects.
New Headquarters in Sękowo
With the continued growth of the company, a decision was made to build a modern operational base. The new headquarters was established in Sękowo, near Nowy Tomyśl. The facility provided more warehouse space, social and garage facilities, allowing for the hiring of new employees and the introduction of modern equipment used both inside and outside industrial halls.
Expansion into Power Line Construction
2004 marked another milestone — the beginning of cooperation with the energy operator ENEA in the construction and modernization of power lines. This collaboration, which continues to this day, has resulted in the implementation of over 800 kilometers of power networks. It is in this area that the company earned trust as a reliable, punctual, and well-prepared partner for large infrastructure projects.
Beginning of Cooperation with HOMAG Group
Collaboration with IKEA led in 2012 to the relocation of the Backpanelline production line from the Zbąszyń branch to the Chlastawa plant. The flawless execution of this project led to further contracts and, consequently, to strategic cooperation with HOMAG Group, a world leader in manufacturing machines for the furniture industry.
Master Agreement with HOMAG and International Expansion
In 2013, PIWOWARSKI signed a master agreement for the assembly of machines and production lines offered by HOMAG. Over the following years, nearly 1,000 projects were completed worldwide, covering not only machine assembly and commissioning but also operator training.
Start of Steel Structure Production
As a result of expanding cooperation with HOMAG, PIWOWARSKI began producing steel structures, delivering the first components for HOMAG AUTOMATION. This department grew rapidly — within a few years, production increased 25-fold, with an annual output of 700 tons of steel elements. Today, this division employs approximately 24 skilled workers.
Transformation into a Limited Partnership Company
To meet growing market challenges and ensure continuity and business development, in 2019 the company was transformed into PIWOWARSKI Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością Spółka komandytowa (Limited Partnership with Limited Liability Company). The founders — Zbigniew and Jolanta Piwowarski — along with their sons Michał and Maciej, became partners. Michał Piwowarski assumed the role of CEO.
